Review: 1897, named for the year the Bottled-in-Bond act passed, is one of the bottles in Old Forester’s Whiskey Row Series. It does not have an age statement but has to be at least 4 years old to meet the bottled-in-bond requirement and to me drinks more like a 6-7 year old bottle. That being said for its price tag I think I prefer the standard Old Forester 100 proof. Cheers!

My Rating: Sip it!

Ratings Scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
