Jim Beam

My Price: $15.95

Distillery: James Beam Distillery

Country/Area: Kentucky, USA

Proof/ABV: 80 Proof/40% ABV

Mash Bill: 77% Corn, 13% Rye, 10% Malted Barley

Age: 4 years

Nose: Sweet Grass, Hay, Corn Dust

Taste: Earth, Oak, Leather

Review: I tried a handful of higher end Jim Beam products before I ever picked up a bottle of “white label”. In my mind I did not care for the more earth and leather notes I found in products like Knob Creek and Old Grand Dad, yet I was surprised to find similar notes in this $16 bottle. It is easy drinking but for a high corn mash bill I wish it was a bit on the sweeter side. That being said, if you prefer a richer and earthy bourbon, this may be the perfect budget bottle for you. Cheers!

My Rating: Stock it!

Ratings Scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
