Review: When I began my whiskey journey years ago I recall seeing this beautiful cardboard tube behind the counters of most liquor stores. The first bottle I ever received was from my good friend Austin who picked it up for $45 after selling my lawn mower for me at his garage sale for $50. I was blown away at how easy drinking and flavorful it was. After finishing that bottle and picking up a bottle of the EH Taylor Single Barrel they seemed to have disappeared from the shelves of my local stores. Occasionally I would find one in a small store somewhere in the middle of nowhere for way more than retail.
Now I have begun to see these bottles reappearing on the shelves of even my local grocery stores for around $80 plus tax. That price is a bit steep but it still is a delicious and flavorful bourbon. If you have a chance to try it at a bar or a friends house before buying, that may be a good choice as it may be sweeter than some peoples preference. Cheers!

My Rating: Stock it!

Ratings Scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
