Review:I have been a little hit and miss when it comes to bottles from Barrell. I have had some amazing bottles (Seagrass) and some mediocre ones (Batch 033 Bourbon) so I had no plans on picking up Vantage until a good friend told he that he really did not like it and suggested I avoid it. I had a feeling our tastes were pretty different so I picked up a bottle to try. The unique blend and finishing barrels offers a nice sweet whiskey with a long finish. It reminds me of a toasted bourbon while offering just a slight bit of spice and complexity. It is worth trying if you ever have a chance. Cheers!
My Rating: Sip it!
Ratings Scale:
-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?
-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk
-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.
-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
