Review: Ardbeg is known for its aggressively peaty scotch coming from the Isle of Islay in Scotland. As a big fan of smokey whiskies I love the flavor from the traditional Ardbeg Ten Year. The smoke reminds me of BBQ and smoked meats where the sweet and fruity aspects of the malt can shine. If you are not acclimated to smoke, it may be a bit harder to find the subtle sweet and malty notes. If you like the smoke, this whiskey is worth trying. Cheers!

My Rating: Stock it!

Ratings Scale:

-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?

-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk

-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
