Review: As a self proclaimed fanboy of Jefferson’s I am willing to admit that I have disliked many, many bottles from them. That includes their standard Jefferson’s Reserve which retails for $50 in my area. Thankfully their Small Batch offering is much cheaper and a good bottle in my opinion. Because of this I was a bit leery to pick up the Cask Strength offering of the Jefferson’s Reserve. However, my friends over at SLB Drinks on YouTube said it was a worthy buy so I picked up a bottle.
Jefferson’s is tight lipped about what goes into their bottles but this blend is well balanced with a decent age that is young enough to not seem too oaky but old enough to not punch you in the mouth. The result is a smooth and approachable high proof whiskey that may deserve a spot on your bar. Cheers!
My Rating: Stock it!
Ratings Scale:
-Spit: Don’t bother with this one. If a friend gives you a dram of it, are they even your friend?
-Shoot: Good enough to get you drunk
-Sip: Tasty enough to enjoy neat or on the rocks.
-Stock: I’d recommend keeping a bottle on hand.
