-Review: Known for its incredible views of Mt Hood in the near distance, Trillium Lake is a popular spot, especially in the summer time, for campers, hikers and folks looking to cool down in the cold lake. There is a fee to enter the day use area (no passes are accepted) but it is money well spent as the trails feature lots and lots of well maintained boardwalk to help keep your feet as dry as possible and impact the trail as little as possible. Although I was there on a cold and rainy day, the views were still magnificent. From marshy fields to dense forest and everything in-between. There are multiple starting points and the overall loop is only 2 miles with almost no elevation. There can be some muddy sections and parts of the trail pass through the often full campground.

-Rating: Come Back

Rating Guide:

-Gram it: Check out the pictures on Instagram because this one is not worth seeing in person

-Hike it: It’s short and sweet. Might as well knock it out in a day

-Bag it: Pack a bag and spend the night

-Bring a friend: Easy enough to bring a friend. Maybe this is where you can introduce someone to backpacking.

-Come Back: I will keep doing this trip it’s so good.
