Review: I picked up the Trekology UL R7 sleeping pad after poking around the Trekology website to see what new gear they have. They are a Portland Oregon based company and I have picked up some very inexpensive gear from them in the past. I was not in need of a cold weather sleeping pad but when I came across the UL R7 for $53 I had to jump on it. The weight specs listed on Amazon were not what it showed on my scale but for a 4” thick, 24” wide pad with a 7.2R value I was willing to try it out. After spending multiple nights on the pad with temps down to the 30’s I am comfortable saying it is one of the most comfortable and warmest pads I own, especially for the price. The pad is heavy but only a few ounces heavier than comparably specd pads. If you are looking for a pad you can take out a few times a year no matter the temps, this may be the pad for you. Cheers!

My Rating: Buy it if you need a do-it-all budget sleeping pad and weight is not s concern.

Rating scale:

-Bypass: This isn’t worth the money.

-Borrow: Handy but may or may not be worth your money.

-Buy: Get one. You’ll love it!

May the miles you hike be filled with wonder and the glasses you raise be filled with whiskey.

Cheers!
