-Review: A pad pump is by no means a necessary item to carry with you on trail. That being said I hate the time and effort it takes me to blow up my typically wide sleeping pads so I was quite happy to learn about a 9 gram sleeping pad pump that utilizes a battery bank and cable I already carry with me while backpacking. This pump is quiet but takes up to 5 minutes to fill a large pad and does not get it to the same firmness as other heavier pad pumps. That being said I don’t mind giving an extra breath or two when needed so long as I don’t have to give it all 30-40 breaths to actually inflate it. The pump is small and can nearly disappear in my ditty kit so it comes with me on nearly every trip. Cheers!
